Analysis
This page documents my recent projects involving data analysis. Additional research projects involving further in-depth data analysis can be viewed here.
Raster analysis
This project assesses global human habitability with a changing climate, using a composite index derived from multiple environmental factors like topography and wet bulb temperature. All data analysis and visualization are reproducible using Python scripts.
Remote sensing
This website details the key methodologies and results of mapping lakes along the Amazon River using remote sensing, and studies the relationship between lake depths and the type of wetland cover. All analysis were ran using Python.
Cloud computing
This project builds a data pipeline in Google Cloud to transform open source data into a dashboard with predicted property prices for Philadelphia’s property owners and assessors. The dashboard is available here.
Predictive modelling
The Chicago Department of Public Health seeks to optimize the allocation of limited health inspectors across the many food establishments in the city. This project presents ChicaGo!, a new application that predicts food establishments most at risk of failing inspections. By prioritizing these establishments, the health department can direct inspection efforts towards where they are most needed.
Sentiment analysis
This project compares the dominant sentiments and emotional tones across Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland (1865) and its sequel, Through the Looking-Glass and What Alice Found There (1871), revealing patterns on their emotional depth and narrative structure, and offering fresh insights into Carroll’s imaginative storytelling.
